Free multiple-choice exam on data analysis in medicine and the health sciences: study designs, OR, RR and NNT, sensitivity, specificity and predictive values, ROC curves, survival analysis, biases and critical appraisal. Built for undergraduate and graduate students (medicine, nursing, clinical psychology) and for practicing the critical reading of papers. Score on screen and the explained correction in your academic inbox.
Worked example: if the risk of an event is 0.20 in the exposed and 0.10 in the unexposed, RR = 2.0 (double the risk) and OR = 2.25. The OR overestimates the RR when the event is common; they only converge when the event is rare, which is why cohort studies prefer to report the RR.
Is it free? Yes, no sign-up; only an email at the end so we can send the correction. Can I retake it? Yes: each attempt draws new questions from the bank.
Test yourself on medical data analysis: study designs, OR and RR, sensitivity, specificity, ROC, survival and bias. Explained correction sent by email.
