Scientific manuscript editing with tracked changes

Grammar, agreement, prepositions, verb tenses and punctuation, paragraph by paragraph and in the language of your manuscript, returned as tracked changes in your own Word file. One-off payment, no subscription. It never touches numbers, statistics, citations or references.

Grammar, agreement, prepositions, verb tenses, punctuation and the spelling of the variant you choose, paragraph by paragraph, in the language your manuscript is written in. €15, one-off payment. You accept or reject each change in Word, as with any copy editor.

What it does

The minimal-change rule

The editor changes as little as possible. It does not paraphrase, does not "improve the style", does not add transitions or examples, does not merge or split more than one sentence per paragraph. Your voice, your order and your terminology stay; what comes out is your text without errors, not a different text.

What it never touches

Two checks before a change reaches your Word

Every edited paragraph passes a deterministic check — code, no model — that checks against the original that the numbers, statistics, citations, acronyms, units, negations and hedges are the same, in the same order and in the same place, and measures the shape (length, share of words changed, number of sentences). If anything does not match, the paragraph is left untouched and you are told why. The ones that pass go through a second reading by a different model, from a different provider, with a single question: "does the edited version state anything the original does not, or drop a negation?". If the answer is yes, it is out.

Languages and variants

It edits in the language of the manuscript; it does not translate. You choose the variant before paying:

Frequently asked questions

Is it a translation?

No. It edits in the language the manuscript is written in. A text in Spanish comes back in Spanish, more correct; it does not come back in English.

Will it change what I say?

It should not, and there are two checks so that it does not: the deterministic one, which leaves untouched any paragraph where a number, a citation, an acronym, a negation or a hedge changes; and the second reading by another model, which discards a paragraph if it states more or less than the original. And even then, in Word you accept or reject each change.

What about Zotero or Mendeley citations?

Field codes are not touched. If a change would fall inside a managed citation, that paragraph is skipped and listed under "not applied" with its reason. The rest of the paragraph is not touched either, so the field is not broken.

Does it replace a professional copy editor?

For grammar, agreement, prepositions and punctuation it does what a language editor does, faster and at a different price. It does not restructure the argument or rewrite the discussion: that is a different job.

Is my manuscript stored or used for training?

The text travels to the model provider to be edited and is not used for training; the .docx file never leaves your browser. The details, with providers and retention periods, are on the security page.

What if my Word has tables, figures or text boxes?

They stay as they are. The editing only writes into running-text paragraphs outside tables and text boxes; the rest is skipped and you are told.

Start with the Basic review

The editing is bought from the workspace of a manuscript you have already run through Previum.
